Ball Mesh Belt: The “Smooth Operator” of Industrial Conveying
Ball mesh belts (also known as ball modular belts or roller mesh belts) are conveyor components with integrated ball structures on modular plastic/metal mesh belts. Designed to reduce conveying friction and enable multi-directional, smooth transitions, they are critical parts of conveyor systems in industries such as tire manufacturing, food processing, and logistics packaging.
Key Features
Low-friction conveying for product protection
The balls on the belt surface roll synchronously with materials, significantly reducing conveying resistance and preventing surface abrasion of easily scratched products like tires and food items. They are especially suitable for processes requiring high surface quality, such as tire vulcanization and finished product conveying.
Modular design for flexible adaptation
Featuring a snap-together structure, the belts can be customized in width and length to easily adapt to complex conveying scenarios, including straight runs, turns, inclines, and merging/splitting lines. Repairs only require replacing damaged modules, minimizing costs and downtime.
Wear-resistant and durable for diverse conditions
Made primarily of POM/PP/PE engineering plastics or stainless steel, these belts offer high temperature resistance, corrosion resistance, and impact resistance. They can withstand harsh environments like high-temperature vulcanization sections in tire plants and cleaning/sterilization sections in food factories, with a longer service life than traditional belts.
Multi-directional transitions to optimize line connections
Universal/directional balls enable smooth transitions between different conveyor lines, reducing the risk of jams and blockages. This is particularly useful for multi-process connections in tire production, such as “vulcanization – cooling – sorting”.
Low noise and easy cleaning
Operating noise is much lower than that of roller conveyors. Plastic materials eliminate the risk of metal debris contamination, and food-grade versions can be directly used for sanitary conveying in food and pharmaceutical industries.
Core Application Scenarios
Tire Manufacturing
Specially designed transverse/longitudinal ball mesh belts are standard equipment for post-vulcanization cooling, finished product conveying, and sorting in tire factories. The ball structure prevents tread damage caused by direct friction between tires and the belt, while supporting tire turning and diversion on the line, significantly reducing scrap rates.
Food & Beverage Industry
Used for conveying bottled/canned beverages, baked goods, and frozen foods. The ball design reduces bottle tipping and food abrasion, and food-grade materials can directly contact products, adapting to the entire process from sterilization and filling to packaging.
Logistics & Packaging Industry
Ideal for sorting and conveying express parcels and cartons. Universal ball mesh belts enable multi-directional turning and diversion of packages, adapting to the complex layouts of automated sorting lines and improving sorting efficiency.
Other Industrial Applications
Suitable for electronic components, pharmaceutical products, battery manufacturing, aquatic processing, and other industries, especially for working conditions requiring stable conveying, low wear, and easy cleaning.
